The small village of Accadia is located among the green hills of the Apennines in the southern Daunia region. The view from Piazza Matteotti is breath-taking, with blue streams and the green woods of Bosco Paduli and Pietra di Punta. In the town centre the most interesting architectural and cultural elements are the Monumental Fountain, the Clock Tower and the Civic Museum. The most characteristic feature of Accadia however is Rione Fossi, an ancient citadel of medieval origins that has maintained its original aspect. The place is unique thanks to its mosaic of caves, some prehistoric, which are now being promoted and enhanced.
