Avetrana (TA) Puglia

Avetrana is a small town surrounded by a verdant landscape and fertile land, with the typical masserie creating a relaxing and pleasant atmosphere. The village itself is a like a jewel box containing gems of culture, history and tradition, with its narrow street, the houses with a courtyard, the underground olive mills and the elegant historical buildings like the Baron’s Palace, the main Church, Palazzo Torricelli and the Clock Tower. This is a land rich in traditions, with its ancient rituals, such as the parade for St. Anthony from Padua, with the wagons full of grain. The festival ends with a very peculiar event called “ballata dei cavalli”.
