On the border between Piedmont and Liguria, perched on the ridge that separates the Bormida and Uzzone valleys, lies Bergolo, a small town famous for the unusual construction of its houses. It is known as "the town of stone" of Alta Langa due to the restoration of its historic houses where local stone is the main feature, the symbol and the essence of the village. Around the town lies pristine, almost wild countryside, and it's perfect for those who love the open air. From here you can set out on pleasant expeditions and treks on foot, mountain bike or horseback. This has recently become a favorite area for fans of a very unusual sport, orienteering. The competition requires participants, armed with a map and compass, to follow a trail they have only just been given... a real challenge!
