Bitti (NU) Sardegna

Bitti is one of the most important centers of the northern Barbagia area, a hamlet where traditional culture is found in the flavors, in the traces of ancient history, and ... in song! Here, the typical products and the ancient ways still used to make them can be found in the Museum of Peasant and Shepherd Life, while the Romanzesu Complex, one of the most important centers of Nuraghic Sardinia, takes us back in time with the remains of this ancient village. But, as we were saying, it is the tenor singing which is one of the most precious jewels of Bitti: a symbol of the island’s intangible cultural heritage and declared by UNESCO as "Intangible Heritage of Humanity." Dedicated to this, there is the extremely interesting Multimedia Museum of Tenor Singing, which traces the roots of this wonderful tradition handed down through generations.
