A cliff jutting out of the water facing the coast, Brolo can even be reached by swimming. It's an unmistakably seaside town, facing the Tyrrhenian Sea and surrounded by the Nebrodi mountain range. The village is a place to make an intimate, authentic connection to the sea. It's centered around a medieval castle, perched on a rocky cape like a guard monitoring the sea and protecting the land from enemies. Surrounded by blue as far as the eye can see, the town has a moving local Sea Festival: every year the Statue of Christ of the Abyss, which is located on the seabed near the cliff, "resurfaces" and is raised onto this rock, surrounded by water, where it stays for a few days.
