Set in a captivating and enchanting landscape, Carpegna is a town located on the coast of the mountain whose name it bears, in the midst of the green beech forests that surround it. The heart of a land with a strong yet gentle nature, its history is rich in mysterious characters, legends and stories that have been handed down through the generations. Here lie the roots of the counts of Carpegna, ancestors of the Malatesta, Montefeltro and Della Faggiola families: it was the latter that produced the famous Uguccione Della Faggiola, described in the XXIII Canto of Dante’s Inferno. Of course, another of the town’s gems is not to be forgotten: its cuisine. Indeed, Carpegna is also known for its PDO ham, one of the tastiest products in the Montefeltro area.
