Inside the Sirente Regional Park the town of Castel di Ieri perches on a hilltop as if remembering the time when, centuries ago, it controlled the whole area, its great tower dominating the town. The tower is the symbol of the history of Castel di Ieri: square, and standing almost 20 meters high, this ancient fortress was built on the orders of the Counts of Celano. The historic town grew up around the tower and is one of the best preserved in the province. Its narrow streets, historic buildings and original details from long ago take you back through the centuries, allowing you to immerse yourself in a captivating and magical ancient setting. Woods and rocks surround the town and appear to guard it like silent, faithful sentinels.
