Castellaro Lagusello

Castellaro Lagusello, Monzambano (MN) Lombardia

Scattered throughout Lombardy you'll find unexpected treasures; historical and natural jewels to be discovered as you travel the roads into the heart of the countryside. Just a few minutes from Lake Garda, as you enter the lush agricultural lands around Mantua, is the small fortified village of Castellaro Lagusello, a locality of the town of Monzambano. Passing through the castle gates, you enter the village proper, surrounded by walls dating to the Guelph and Ghibelline wars. Proceeding along lanes paved with river cobbles, you arrive at the historic Clock Tower, the baroque Church of San Nicola, and Villa Arrighi Tacoli. Outside the walls is a small, heart-formed lake, reflecting the village in a timeless play of light.
