Cingoli (MC) Marche

Known as the “Balcony of Marche”, Cingoli sits atop Mount Circe, over 600 meters above sea level: indeed, from the large terrace built into the town’s Medieval castle walls, you are treated to a breathtaking view, a canvas painted with gentle brush strokes that showcases the beauty of the Marchesian territory, which stretches right out to the sea and Mount Conero. Whilst, on the one hand, the old town is characterized by its magnificent noble palaces with their warm colors and traditional Renaissance-era archways, along with its churches housing masterpieces like the Madonna of the Rosary by Lorenzo Lotto, the surrounding countryside is the ideal place for nature lovers, who can soak up the enchanting silence of the woods at the foot of Mount San Vicino and around Castreccioni Lake, where there’s even an adventure park. Buildings and monuments located in the old town may not be accessible following the 2016 earthquake: for up-to-date information contact the tourism helpline at the following email address: numeroverde.turismo@regione.marche.it.
