Cut in two by the River Natisone, Cividale del Friuli combines the essence of a cultured, sophisticated town with a lively community scene. Part of TCI’s Bandiera Arancione initiative, it is a culturally vibrant, future-oriented town yet values its traditions and history. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Cividale del Friuli has plenty to see, including the Monastero di S. Maria in Valle, the Tempietto Longobardo, Museums of Christianity and Archaeology and the Centro Podrecca Signorelli. The pretty streets of the center lead you to discover the underground Ipogeo Celtico, admire the waters of the Natisone from the Ponte del Diavolo and take in the Duomo, churches, elegant palazzos and stunning landscape that surrounds the tower. It’s also well worth stopping to enjoy the local delicacies, preferably washed down with fine Colli Orientali del Friuli wines.
