Collarmele (AQ) Abruzzo

Among the splendid Appenine valleys of Abruzzo, and surrounded by wild and imposing mountains, lies Collarmele, a small town whose origins are shrouded in mystery and legend. What we do know is that the town is set like a precious gem in breathtaking scenery at the gates of the Sirente Velino Regional Park, between the Majella Park, the Monte Salviano Nature Reserve and the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park. The woods, hills and rivers of the surrounding area make this a paradise for those who like to explore nature and surround themselves with restorative silence. In contrast, a symbol of the town’s history is the Torre Normanna (Norman Tower), still perfectly preserved today: like a sentinel, it watches over the town – which, through centuries of battles, has never ceased to protect its people.
