Comacchio (FE) Emilia-Romagna

Comacchio is a town of water and history that speaks of the fascination of the lagoon and of the unique landscape of the Po Delta, with its wetlands that seem to reach the sky, the gentle light that is reflected in the canals at sunset creating an atmosphere of unique beauty, and the typical fishermen's stations, called casoni, where illegal fishermen used to hide. Waterfowl make this place even more unique: elegant pink flamingos that turn the Po Delta Park into a land of magic and colours. The eel, king of the wetlands, is the protagonist of the local cuisine and is celebrated every year with a dedicated festival.
