San Benedetto del Tronto

San Benedetto del Tronto (AP) Marche

Also known as the Riviera delle Palme (lit. Riviera of Palms) due to the some 8000 palm trees that line the seafront, San Benedetto del Tronto, with the Sentina Natural Reserve and its lush gardens, is first and foremost a seaside town. This strong identity emerges from its many cultural centers dedicated to the sea: the Museums of the Sea, which include the Museum of Maritime Civilization of Marche, the Amphora Museum, the Fishing Museum and the Truentinum Antiquarium, and the Art Gallery of the Sea, which is an integral part of the museums dedicated to the sea and located in the Fish Market. Then there’s the MAM, the Museum of Sea Art, a permanent open-air museum that is home to no fewer than 145 works of maritime-themed art.
