Sant'Agata Feltria

Sant'Agata Feltria (RN) Emilia-Romagna

This village was once part of the Marche Region and was dominated by the House of Montefeltro, who left their traces in the fortress, symbol of the village, which is perched on a sandstone rock and was successively enlarged in the 15th century by Federico di Montefeltro. But the architecture of the town has also some gentle, poetic elements, such as the Fountains' Trail in the centre of the town, created by the great mosaicist Marco Bravura. One of the fountains, the Fountain of the Snail, was inspired by an idea of the poet Tonino Guerra.
