Scontrone is a town with a dual personality: a place where ancient history meets modern art, and where a deep attachment to its roots is matched by the desire to define its own future. Just like its identity, Scontrone has two sides: the main town in the upper, older part, and the hamlet of Villa Scontrone, lower down in the valley on the banks of the river Sangro. In the old town the mixture of medieval influence and contemporary art is striking: here you can admire the wonderful murals and sculptures that embellish the town. Scontrone has set itself a highly ambitious artistic project: to become the Home of the Muses, a disseminator of art in all its forms, from music to theatre, from poetry to painting through to multimedia art.
