The beautiful Soave castle, one of the most important fortifications in the region, stands on a small hill on the Verona plain. The castle is the symbol of the village, its historic and cultural heart. Construction work started in the 10th century and it was gradually extended and embellished over the centuries, until it acquired its current appearance in the second half of the 14th century, with its central fortress and elegant surrounding walls, graceful despite its imposing nature. The following centuries saw an ongoing battle to conquer the castle and the village, which had developed inside the walls in the meantime. This fight continued until the 17th century. Today the Rocca is open to visitors. A visit is a real experience, like taking a step back in time.
