Urbania (PU) Marche

The domain of the Montefeltro family in Medieval times, the former town of Casteldurante, known today as Urbania, is famous for its production of majolica, a tradition that dates back to Medieval times and is still a part of the town’s identity to this day. Another legacy from Medieval times is the Ducal Palace, which today houses the library founded by Federico da Montefeltro and the Municipal Museum, whilst the underground space beneath it is home to the Museum of Agricultural and Artisan History, a treasure trove of knowledge on local culture and traditions. But Urbania is also well-known for one product in particular, truffles: indeed, local cuisine showcases the precious white truffle and the more common but nonetheless outstanding black truffle, known as the scorzone truffle.
